PUKATEA REGISTRATION & CUSTOMER CARE
We require all riders to complete and submit the form below before arriving for your horse trek.
In any adventure activity, there is an element of risk involved. Risks in undertaking this activity include; falling off your horse, being trampled by a horse, kicked or bitten by a horse or colliding with any object, vehicle, horse or rider. Horse riding requires a minimum level of fitness.
The staff and management of Pukatea Horse Trekking & Adventures Ltd take all practicable steps to identify and minimise potential dangers. However, you must follow our instructions and use the safety equipment provided at all times. Photo ID will be required by those that participate in Freedom Trekking for safety purposes. Note, that we ride at the speed of the slowest rider on the ride. Adults accompanying any person under the age of 16 must ensure that the underage person follows your instructions at all times. All premises and the St James and Molesworth areas are smoke free areas.
We reserve the right to withdraw any person who in our opinion is likely to endanger themselves or others. If our guides judge that someone's behaviour may endanger themselves or others while out on the trek, this person may be asked to dismount at any stage, with no refund offered. We also reserve the right to cancel the trek if we become concerned for any reason for your safety or that of any other person.
Covid-19 Protection Framework
As a concessionaire holder, and to ensure that Pukatea Trails and our clients are following the new framework that the Department of Conservation will put in place from the 15th December 2021, all those aged 12 and over who are staying in DOC accommodation must be fully vaccinated.
This will mean that any bookings that involve our riders staying overnight in any of the DOC huts will need to provide their Covid-19 vaccine certificate during their stay at any DOC hut, campsite or lodge.
Horse trekkers do not need to be fully vaccinated to use tracks, toilets or any other non-accommodation facilities on public conservation land.
We require all riders and visitors to scan the NZ COVID-19 QR code poster displayed at our business, on arrival. We will ensure that all our equipment is sanitised after each use and sanitiser is available for our customers before and after treks.
